Materials & technology

The water-proof aluminium guaranteed an all-weather parasol. You can choose between a powder-coated and a natural aluminium frame. Both are all-weather convenient. The powder frame is in RAL 5803 E 90070 A10. This is the color of Glatz products. Favoured of the customers is the natural color of the parasol frame. This one looks slightly and modern. Also modern looks the oval mast cross-section. But it´s not only made for modern appearance. In horizontal position the free-arm parasol has the power to provide wind force 6. This properties makes it attractive also for commercial usage.

You can choose your favourite color. There are more than 50 designs possible.

The material of the proof is different and your choice! However your needs is requested. If you only use the free-arm parasol in private enviroment, you can decide the class 2. Underneath you will find the difference between the classes.

All classes guaranteeds you a highly sun-protection of ultraviolet rays. Class 4 and 5 are more convenient for colored roofs. The properties of light fastness assured a powerfull colored parasol after years.

 

class 2

100 % polyester approx. 220 g/m2, weatherproof, light fastness 4 – 5, UPF 50+, Teflon®-coated. Optimal protection against UV rays. Colours 100 – 199.

class 4

100 % polyester approx. 250 g/m2, dope dyed, of pile fibre, light fastness 7, UPF 50+, dirt- and waterrepellent and anti-mould treated. Optimal protection against UV rays. Colours 400 – 499.

class 5

100 % acrylic approx. 300 g/m2, dope dyed, light fastness 7 – 8, UPF 50+, impregnated with Teflon®. Optimal protection against UV rays. Colours 500 – 699.

The scale shows a color change after 160 sunny days.


Notes on care and cleaning methods:

  • Damp or wet covers shall never be left rolled up or folded for long periods of time.
  • Fallen leaves or insect excrement should be removed immediately, whenever possible (starting point for microbial attack).
  • Clean dry dirt off, preferably using a dry, soft brush.
  • Stains can be treated with hand-hot water, a soft brush and some detergent. Afterwards, rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water, then allow to dry and treat with a commercial reproofing agent.
  • Do not use aggressive detergents (pH 7).
  • When opening, closing or adjusting the sunshade, make sure that the material does not scrape against walls or other obstacles and that it is not caught up in the frame.
  • Make sure that closed sunshades are duly tied up and the single cover panels folded outwards. Sunshades must not be allowed to flutter in the wind. Abrasion damages and holes may not give rise to complaints.
